Cava DO

This is produced from the best Macabeo and Parellada vines available each year. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel and then racked to a blending tank. The wine is bottled at 10% alcohol and the liqueur de tirage is added to the bottle prior to secondary fermentation. After 20 months of riddling and resting the wine is disgorged and topped with nine grams per liter of dosage.

Light gold. High-pitched and precise on the nose and in the mouth, offering lively citrus zest, pear, floral and herbal qualities. Dry and silky in texture, showing very good depth and energy. Closes clean and nervy, with noteworthy cut and floral-driven persistence.

PORTELL

Portell is produced by a cooperative called Vinícola de Sarral, which is located in the wine region of Conca de Barberá. This is a region deeply rooted in wine history dating back to the Roman times and Cisterian monks in the middle ages continuing that tradition. The cooperative began as an agricultural union in 1907 and taking on its current name in 1959. Production of still wines existed from the beginning but it was not until 1984 that Cava production commenced.  Learn More »
