'Alferi'
Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC

This hails from a single high altitude vineyard in the heart of La Morra. Low yields and selection of the best berries create the canvas for the art. 21 months in 30% new French barrique and voila...the first vintage of 'Alferi.' This is racy with its perfumed dark fruit, sweet light toasted oak, new leather and licorice. Medium in body, the wine offers excellent balance, with finessed tannins that frame the finish nicely.

The estate covers about 15 hectares; hazelnuts cover approximately 8 hectares and vines cover about 4. The rest is woodlands. The current farm was bought by Francesco and Giovanni in 1966.
