Marche IGT

Marche IGT

This is the flagship wine of Valturio and is regarded among the great wines of Italy as referenced by it continually receiving the coveted ‘Tre Bicchieri’ from Gambero Rosso. Over 20,000 wines and 2,700 producers are reviewed each year and generally around 300 wines receive the highest honor. This is entirely Sangiovese from three different clones. A considerable amount of time on skins (3 weeks) further intensifies the structure and tannins of this wine.

Sour cherry, flowers, marzipan and a whiff of orange peel. Wonderfully lush and seamless, with an almost liqueur-like sweetness that does not go roasted. This medium-to-full wine boasts a velvety texture today but really needs time in bottle to show off its inherent complexity. Finishes with a broad dusting of tannins.
