Raw Power
Shiraz
Adelaide Plains

This is not some made up label with a cute marketing scheme…this is a single vineyard, low-yield, meticulously cared for wine that completely overdelivers on the price. A wine that isn’t about subtlety of complexity but rather, sheer force and utter deliciousness. Every once in a while, this is perfectly acceptable. Pure, unadulterated power!!!

2011 was a bit of a challenging vintage around South Australia and this vineyard was no different. Yields were drastically reduced and mildew presented a problem. Luckily, Rawley is a bad ass and kicked 'Mother Nature' right in her gaptoothed mouth and produced a really delicious and subtle Shiraz. This is certainly a bit of a paradigm shift from the ripe and robust 2010, a wine that...hark...even the most discerning of palates (ie Sommeliers) will find interesting.
